Four children were struck by a pickup truck in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, Tuesday night, according to police.

The kids were on the 400 block of Chestnut Avenue when they were struck by a pickup truck passing by. Officials say the accident was not a hit-and-run.

Neighbors told NBC10 the victims are 8, 9, 14, and 4 years old, and the accident occurred on a dead end street.

The 8- and 9-year-old were playing basketball while the 14-year-old was riding a bike moments before the crash, neighbors said. They also said the 4-year-old was sitting in a car seat that was on top of the bike.

The pickup truck was swerving before it struck the children, according to the neighbors.

Police have not yet confirmed these details, however.

Three of the four children were taken to the hospital. Officials have not yet revealed their conditions. Witnesses at the scene told NBC10 they suffered non-life-threatening injuries however. The witnesses also claimed the driver was taken away in a police car though officials also have not yet confirmed this.
