Man Faces Child Porn Charges Following Tip From Parole Board

A southern New Jersey man is facing child pornography charges.

Ocean County prosecutors say the arrest of 70-year-old Stafford Township resident Robert Williams culminated an investigation that started with a tip from the state parole board.

Authorities say a parole officer on a routine visit at Williams home discovered he was using social media, which violates the terms of his parole stemming from a sexual assault case. Investigators then sought warrants to search to his computer and allegedly found images of child porn.

Williams was charged with possession of child porn. His bail was set at $50,000 cash.

A telephone number for Williams could not be located Sunday. It wasn't known if he has retained an attorney.
