Student Shoots Teen on Crowded School Bus in Chester: Police

Police are searching for a high school student accused of shooting another teen on a crowded school bus in Chester Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred on a Durham School bus on West 9th Street and Highland Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. A 16-year-old Chester High School student allegedly took out a gun and fired four shots, striking another 16-year-old student in the buttocks. Police say 29 other students who were on board fled the scene as the shooting took place.

Police and paramedics responded to the shooting. The victim was taken to the hospital. Officials have not yet revealed his condition.

Investigators have identified the alleged gunman and are currently searching for him. A warrant was issued for his arrest and police executed a search warrant at his home on the 1000 block of Hunt Terrace. The teen has not yet been found however. He is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of a weapon on school property.
