A Chester County teacher has been arrested after police say she was caught having sex in a car with a 17-year-old student.
The alleged incident took place July 1 on a neighborhood cul-de-sac in East Bradford Township.
A resident on the cul-de-sac reported a suspicious vehicle to West Chester Police and said they noticed an "intimate encounter" happening inside around 8 that night, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Officers identified the teacher as 31-year-old Katie Cross, who is employed at Collegium Charter School in Exton. Cross, an english literature teacher, has been suspended until further notice, Collegium Charter School said in a statement. The school said it is fully cooperating with police and the Chester County District Attorney's office.
The student told police Cross was his teacher during the past school year, according to court documents, and that he and Cross have had a physical relationship since February.
Police charged Cross with sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and related offenses.
