Center City ‘Bark-B-Que' to Raise Money to Help Shelter Dogs, Local SPCA

A dog-friendly fundraiser in Center City this month will celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Dog Day and raise money to support the Pennsylvania SPCA.

The PSPCA is partnering with Smokin' Betty's and Devil's Alley, two downtown Philadelphia mainstays, to host a "Puppy Love Bark-B-Que" at Smokin' Betty's, on 11th Street near Sansom, on Saturday, April 30. The event, at which dogs are welcome, is being held to mark National Adopt a Shelter Dog Day and will benefit the PSPCA's efforts to help shelter animals find homes.

The "Bark-B-Que" will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Regular admission costs $35, and elite tickets -- which include professional photos of your pooch -- are available for $75.
