Delaware State Police say a cement mixer driver has been cited for careless driving after the truck overturned.
Police say the incident occurred Wednesday as the driver tried to turn right from Kings Highway onto Gills Neck Road.
Master Cpl. Gary Fournier says the mixer carrying 10 yards of concrete shifted in the sharp turn and the truck overturned, blocking both lanes of Gills Neck Road. The area was closed for about two hours.
Police say the driver, 31-year-old Edwin Manuel Figueroa-Maldonado of Dover, was taken to Beebe Healthcare's hospital in Lewes with minor injuries and was released. He was cited for careless driving.
