A state trooper is recovering after being struck by a vehicle on I-295 in Carneys Point Township, New Jersey.
The trooper was in the area of milemarker 1.3 on I-295 south around 1:50 p.m. Sunday to investigate a crash. While at the scene, the trooper was struck by a passing vehicle which stayed at the scene.
The trooper was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released.
All I-295 southbound lanes were closed near Exit-1-US 40/US 130, causing massive backup and delays in the area. Lanes were later reopened.
