Car Tires Slashed in Kensington

Nearly a dozen cars were damaged after someone went on a tire-slashing spree in Kensington

Car vandals went on a tire-slashing spree in Kensington overnight - nearly a dozen cars were hit, police say.

It happened along the 700 block of East Cornwall Street. Last month police were investigating the same kind of crime in Mayfair. Investigators believe the same person is responsible for both incidents.

The individual just walked down the sidewalk and slashed tires along the curb when people were sleeping.

Some residents made the discovery as early as 5 a.m.

“It was my car, then another car, then that car,” Synobia Veney said.

Eleven cars between F and G streets were damaged. Police say someone took a sharp object to the tires. Some vehicles had two or three tires slashed.

If you have any information on either incident you are asked to call Northeast Police.
