Car Strikes, Kills Pedestrian in Burlington County

A pedestrian died early Sunday after police say a car struck the person along busy Route 130 in Burlington County.

Police and paramedics in Burlington City responded to the scene, along Route 130 near Federal Street, just after midnight. Police said that when paramedics arrived, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. No identifying information about the victim was immediately available.

Police said the striking vehicle stayed at the scene.

Route 130 was shut down in the area of Federal Street in the aftermath of the crash as police investigated, and authorities said drivers should expect delays throughout the day Sunday due to a utility pole that was split in the crash.

Police asked that any witnesses to the crash call the City of Burlington Police Department's Traffic Unit Supervisor, Sgt. Jeremy Bright, at 609-386-0262 ext. 236.
