Camden's Drug Traffic Comes From the ‘Burbs

7 out of 10 buyers in a recent drug sting came from South Jersey's suburbs, according to authorities

Authorities say 70 percent of those arrested during a drug buying sting in Camden traveled to the city from the suburbs.

Undercover police officers acted as sellers in the Lanning Square neighborhood on Tuesday night. Those arrested were charged with loitering to commit a controlled dangerous substance offense.

Authorities say 35 of the 49 charged came to Camden from the suburbs of Camden, Gloucester Burlington and Atlantic counties.

Officials say they'll share the names of those arrested with prosecutors and police from their hometowns.

Police Chief John Thomson says suburban drug buyers are the life blood to Camden's open air drug market epidemic.
