Vandals Ransack Church on Good Friday

Pastor vows to stay put

A pastor says his Camden church was ransacked by thieves on Good Friday.

The Rev. David King says Community Baptist Church had four of its stain glass windows broken and electronics stolen during the break-in Friday.

He says discovering the problem was like “being slapped in the face.”

“When I walked into the church and saw the window busted out, it took my breath away,” King told the Courier-Post.

The church in the Whitman Park neighborhood was also broken into at Christmas last year. King tells the Courier-Post that he will not consider moving.

“If we walk away, they win,” he said.

A Paulsboro, N.J. church has donated a security system and people have reached out to help out as well.
