An armed standoff ended peacefully this morning after a man allegedly shot up a woman’s car.
The man barricaded himself inside a home near the intersection of 6th and Walnut Streets in Camden, N.J. after apparently getting into an argument with his girlfriend that quickly turned violent.
According to initial reports, the argument began around 12:30 and escalated to the point where the man grabbed a gun, fired at least once and then barricaded himself inside a row house after the woman called police.
SWAT officers were called to the scene and eventually officers talked the man into surrendering without any more violence and 4 a.m., according to police.
Investigators didn't immediately identify the man. They said they expected charges to be filed.
Police didn't report any injuries.
It wasn't clear what led to the initial argument.
