South Jersey Bus Driver Sends Child Porn, Claims Abuse: Prosecutors

A New Jersey man faces decades behind bars after being charged with sharing child porn that allegedly included at least one video of a child he claimed to have met on a school trip.

Christopher Walsh, 31, either sent or received nearly 1,600 files that contained images of child-sex abuse, said the United States Attorney for New Jersey Friday.

Walsh sent and received both still images and video of illicit sex acts with minors via an email account under the name "fatbusdriver0984" that was linked to subscriber "Chris Walsh," said investigators.

Walsh, who is from Yardville, works for Kensington Bus Company in Lebanon, New Jersey. The bus company told NBC10 they had just become aware of the allegations against Walsh and that they had no comment.

Walsh sent and received the images from June of 2014 to January of this year, according to a criminal complaint obtained by NBC10. In an email exchange, Walsh identified himself in an image depicting abuse on a prepubescent girl.

In other emails, Walsh said he likes “special kids,” drives buses and babysits at night and that “I’ve always liked them young,” read the criminal complaint.

Chris also mentioned wanting to “play” with children as young as 2 years old that he was babysitting and said he thought it would be “easy” to “play” with a 9-year-old girl “because she has down’s syndrome.”

He also used the email account to respond to confirm bus driving details and confirmed the email address for payroll purposes, said investigators.

Walsh faces three federal counts of distributing child porn because investigators found that the videos traveled across state lines, according to the criminal complaint. Each count carries a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum sentence of 20 years and a fine up to $250,000.

Walsh was set to be arraigned Friday.
