Bucks ‘Extreme Makeover' House Up for Sale

Four years after a Bucks County family stood grateful outside their richly renovated home on national television, the house if up for sale

A local home built four years ago for a teary-eyed Bucks County family on ABC's “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is up for sale in Middletown.

The formerly termite-infested home on Cobalt Ridge Drive was built in four days in 2007 for the Kilgallon family. Now the Kilgallons are selling the three-story, four-bedroom beauty for double the amount of money they spent to buy the house, reports the Bucks County Courier.

It’s listed for sale at $450,000.

It is unknown why the Kilgallons are selling the upgraded structure originally built by William J. Levitt, but the Courier Times reports that at least 12 homes renovated by “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” have been sold or lost to forclosure.

The taxes due to increased property value, as well as higher utilities, can be a burden on the “winning” families.

The four-bedroom home with white siding and black shutters has stone columns flanking the front entrance, granite countertops and a master suite with whirlpool tub.

The house, which is part of the Neshaminy School District, would cost a buyer $1,718 a month if he had a 30-year mortgage, a four percent interest rate and 20 percent down, report the Courier Times.
