Bryn Mawr pediatrician and autism specialist Dr. Wendy Ross, a finalist for CNN's "Hero of the Year" award did not win the top honor — but is hoping the exposure will benefit her foundation: Autism Inclusion Resources.
CNN's 9-year-old program honors everyday people for their extraordinary efforts to change the world. The 10 finalists each received $25,000, while the person picked "Hero of the Year" from an online vote will get an additional $100,000 for his or her cause.
The winner from online voting will be announced Sunday night during a program that will honor all the finalists.
