Brother of Alleged Baby Killer in Court on Harassment Charges

Jawwad Rushdi, the brother of an accused baby killer, is due in court on charges he threatened an detective.

Rushdi, 33, allegedly threatened the lead police investigator on his brother's case inside the Delaware County Courthouse last November. Officials said Rushdi also threatened a domestic violence victim who tried to calm him down.

The man's brother, 30-year-old Ummad Rushdi, was charged with kidnapping and killing Hamza Ali. The 7-month-old was taken from his Upper Darby, Pa. home and was never found. Ummad told police he accidentally killed the baby, according to authorities. Jawwad has accused police of harassing his family, according to a police affidavit.

He stands charged with two counts of Making Terroristic Threats, two counts of Harassment and Disorderly Conduct.

The man is set to appear before a Delaware County judge on Monday morning.
