Boyertown Bears Returned to Their Dens

The search for two missing Boyertown, Pa. Bear statues, Gilbert and Baby Bear, is over—Both were found and returned Wednesday.

Gilbert, stolen from the front entrance of Gilbertsville Elementary School, was found by a construction worker tossed on the side of Route 100, according to WFMZ.

And Baby Bear, a memorial to a 5-year-old girl who died in a car accident, was mysteriously returned to her home—she was placed right next to Mama Bear in front of the YMCA, the news station reported.

But, both bears won’t be on display just yet—They have some dents and scratches that must be repaired.

Police still do not know who stole the bears or why.

The Boyertown, Pa. Community takes pride in its “Bear Fever” with 58 bear statues placed throughout the town. Each bear is decorated and painted through its community art project.
