Bergen County's bomb squad responded to a home after an apparent grenade was found on the lawn.
Bergen County Sheriff's Office spokesman Anthony Cureton tells The Record Oakland police requested assistance from the sheriff's bomb squad at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The grenade was later determined to not be real.
Cureton says the fake grenade appeared to be a "training device." But he says the object is not an official apparatus of any law enforcement academies.
