A tractor-trailer fire caused big problems on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for hours Monday morning.
Some motorists turned around due to the delay as cars barely snaked by the crash in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 315 in Chester County around 8 a.m.
The crash caused intermittent closures of the turnpike between the Downingtown and Route 29 interchanges until around 10:45 a.m. when a detour was lifted.
Drivers were being detoured around the scene onto Route 100 south then U.S. Route 30 east and U.S. Route 202 north to pick up the turnpike past the crash scene, said the turnpike commission.
The fire left the tractor-trailer destroyed, crews having sprayed foam all over it to extinguish the flames. It was hauling cardboard and juice products, said the turnpike commission.
No one was hurt, said county dispatchers.
