Best High Schools in Pennsylvania by SAT Scores: Data

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has published the average composite SAT test scores for public high schools statewide. We've put together a ranking of the top-scoring schools in the state.

Each test has a reading, math and writing portion with scores ranging from 200 through 800. Those scores are combined for the composite score. Schools with less than 11 students taking the SAT test were excluded from the PDE's data.

Masterman, a magnet high school in Philadelphia, ranked first on the list with a composite SAT score average of 1978. Meanwhile, Philly's Central High School ranked no. 25 with a 1661 average.
