Woman Dies in Cliff Fall While Looking for Dog

Authorities say a missing woman was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in a Montgomery County park, where she apparently fell as she searched for her runaway dog.

Investigators say the body of 48-year-old Deborah Tobin was found late Wednesday night in Eco Valley Nature Park located on Mary Waters Ford Road in Lower Merion Township, Pa. Township spokesman Tom Walsh says Tobin had been reported missing after she went looking for the dog.

Authorities say the woman was found on private property along Rock Hill Road at the bottom of the steep incline around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday after an extensive search, and that she apparently had fallen. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office is investigating the cause of death.

The dog was later found.
