Beau Biden Scholarship Helps Child of Slain Service Member

A scholarship named after former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden will pay for the child of a service member who was killed or wounded in combat to go to college.

The News Journal of Wilmington  reports money for the scholarship is being raised at golf tournaments taking place during both the Republican and Democratic national conventions.

The "Congressional Shootouts" are sponsored by No Greater Sacrifice, a nonprofit group dedicated to helping the children of fallen service members obtain higher education.

One of the tournaments took place Monday near Cleveland, the site of this week's Republican National Convention. The other will be held next week outside of Philadelphia, where the Democratic National Convention will place.

Beau Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, died last year after battling cancer.
