Pizza delivery drivers in Newark, Del. should keep an eye over their shoulder during their next delivery.
That’s because two drivers were robbed while delivering pies in two separate incidents this past weekend, according to New Castle County Police Monday.
The first robbery occurred on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. on Egret Court at the Sparrow Run development. Police said a 54-year-old driver from Marino’s Pizza was accosted by one man, while another punched him in the face and stole cash from his pocket.
The victim jumped into his car and fled the scene before calling authorities. He described the suspects as two black men wearing all dark clothes.
A 47-year-old Domino’s deliveryman was attacked on Sunday at 10:50 p.m. in 100 block of Cannonball Lane at the Christina Green Town Homes. After delivering his order, the driver was attacked by one man armed with a handgun.
The driver’s cash and cell phone were taken. He described his attacker as a black male wearing all dark clothing.
