Woman Hurt After Police Chase Leads to Crash at AutoZone Building

Two people are in custody and a woman is in the hospital after a police chase that started in Yeadon, Delaware County led to a crash at an AutoZone building in Southwest Philadelphia, according to officials.

Investigators say police tried to pull over a vehicle in Yeadon around 9:15 p.m. Monday but the driver fled the traffic stop, leading to a chase. The driver entered Philadelphia as the chase continued, according to police. He then lost control of his vehicle at 70th Street and Elmwood Avenue, hit a traffic light and then crashed into an AutoZone building, officials said.

Police say a woman who was working inside the AutoZone at the time of the crash was injured but is expected to survive. Two suspects inside the car were arrested though police have not yet revealed their identities.
