Authorities still don't know who slashed four tires on two security cars for the Philadelphia district attorney's office last November, and police aren't looking into it. City police spokesman, Lt. John Stanford, writes in an email to the Philadelphia Inquirer last week that they aren't investigating the Nov. 11 slashings outside the home of District Attorney Seth Williams.
The newspaper says detectives are supposed to investigate city-owned vehicle vandalism under department policy. Though the incident was reported, the file was apparently closed without a follow-up investigation.
The district attorney's security unit filed a report 12 days after the incident. They said the district attorney's office was investigating. Williams has said they don't comment on matters involving the district attorney's security or internal investigations out of safety and security concerns.
