Atlantic City Race Course Says It's Closing Next Week

Atlantic City Race Course says it's closing for good after next week.

The horse track is one of four in New Jersey.

Its owners, Greenwood ACRA, said Friday that it would remain open until Jan. 16 for simulcast racing. Customers can cash winning tickets at the track until then, and at the company's Favorite's at Vineland, an off-track betting site, after that. The company is based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

New Jersey has been battling with sports leagues to allow sports betting at its casinos and race tracks, a move seen as a way to try to save the horse-racing industry in the state.
