Man, Ex-Girlfriend Killed in Murder-Suicide Outside Chester County YMCA: DA

A man and a woman were killed after an apparent murder suicide outside a YMCA in Chester County.

According to the Chester County District Attorney, the unidentified man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend in an ambush attack in the parking lot of the YMCA on the 200 block of Hurley Road in West Brandywine around 5:45 p.m. Monday.

The man then turned the gun on himself once police arrived, according to authorities. Both the man and his ex-girlfriend died from their injuries.

The YMCA was initially placed on lockdown after the shootings. The lockdown has since been lifted.

Officials have not yet identified the alleged shooter and victim.
