Arrest in Attempted Firebombing in Philly

A witness reported seeing an attempted arsonist running from the scene of a fire -- set beside a Philadelphia home early Wednesday morning, police said.

Authorities apprehended a suspect at the intersection of B Street and Erie Avenue, just a few blocks from where the fire crews found a device in flames, according to officials.

Investigators are calling the blaze, which was set behind a home on the 3900 block of Palmetto Street in the city's Juniata neighborhood, an attempted arson.

Police took a suspect into custody, but have yet to file any charges.

There were no reported injuries.
