Northwesterly winds will be even stronger Friday afternoon and become gusty, too. This will keep the chill around all day.

Afternoon temperatures normally warm into the middle 60s in late April, but the winds will limit Friday afternoon readings to the 50s and wind chills will continue to run around 5 to 10 degrees cooler through in the evening.

High pressure is moving into the region, so even though the winds will keep it chilly Friday, we will enjoy plenty of sunshine.

A wind change is coming just in time for the weekend, and it will make for nice conditions for the many outdoor events going on this time of year. The wind will finally die down overnight into Saturday morning. At 7 a.m., just about all of the neighborhoods will have winds below 10 mph.

However, the combination of clear skies, light winds and dry air is a recipe for lower temperatures in the morning. So if you are out and about first thing Saturday, you'll still need a warm jacket or coat as morning lows will be in the 30s.

But once the Sun is up, that same combination will result in a nice warm-up, and that's what we'll be treated to both Saturday and Sunday.
