Another Zoning Setback for NJ Medical Pot Provider

They've gotten permission to sell medical marijuana, but they can't find a place that will allow them to sell it

Another group approved to sell marijuana to patients has been denied use of a site by a New Jersey town's zoning board.

The Land Development Board in the southern New Jersey community of Westampton voted 4-3 Wednesday against allowing the Compassionate Care Foundation to grow and sell marijuana in a vacant warehouse.

Local land-use boards have become a major obstacle for the six nonprofit groups chosen by the state government to run medical marijuana businesses.

So far, only one group has an approval. At least four other town boards have turned away the businesses.

New Jersey legalized medical marijuana in January 2010, but so far none has been sold legally.

Only patients with certain conditions, including multiple sclerosis, glaucoma and terminal cancer qualify.
