Another Baby Taken in Carjacking, Found

Second time in two days that a baby was taken in a carjacking

For the second time in two days, another area car was stolen with a baby inside it.

Similar to Saturday’s Center City Philadelphia carjacking, a woman’s car was stolen in Wilmington, Del. Monday night while her baby was still in the car, says police.

A 24-year-old Newark, Del., woman stopped at a Sunoco station on Lancaster Avenue and left her 5-month-old baby in the backseat of the car while she made purchases inside.

When she saw a man get into her car, the mother ran outside and began banging on the window and yelling that her child was in the car. The man drove away with the baby in the car.

Police later found the car at S. Bancroft Parkway and Barry Street. The car and the infant were found in good condition.

Police said the suspect was only described as a black man. The investigation is continuing.

The baby taken in the Center City carjacking over the weekend was also found safe.
