Animals Killed After Man Allegedy Sets His Home on Fire

A southern New Jersey man stands accused of setting his home on fire during a domestic dispute.

Hamilton Township police tell The Press of Atlantic City that 29-year-old Janrv Bacolod faces arson and animal cruelty charges. The latter charge was filed because several cats and a dog died in the fire at the Holly Street home, which was reported around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Bail was set at $100,000 for Bacolod, and it was not known Saturday if he has retained an attorney.

No residents were injured in the fire.

Authorities have not said what sparked the argument.
