Angelo’s Pizzeria is wildly popular, with folks traveling from out of state just to eat there. But that’s also the problem for neighbors. They say there’s too much trash, traffic, and noise.
The pizzeria and cheesesteak shop is a super-trendy restaurant tucked inside a rowhome on South 9th Street in South Philly.

Some of the people who live nearby say they are fed up with the amount of customers that continually swarm the place with long lines.
"It's gets pretty overpopulated. It gets crowded. Like, there's not much room to order," Angelo's customer Lilly Ringle said.

The store is only open from Wednesday to Sunday and neighbors say the crowds that flock to the store usually leave trash behind and make lots of loud noise too.
"There’s always noise coming in my house. It’s ridiculous," neighbor Jim Orr said.
Those who live in the neighborhood are upset about trash and traffic at the take out only spot, and customers sitting and eating on their front steps.

The attorney representing Angelo's told NBC10 that the pizza shop put trash cans out and placed signs asking customers to respect the neighbors.
"Any time communities have issues, neighbors have issues, it's not overblown. When you're a member of the community and people are upset about something, you gotta deal with it right up front," attorney Peter Kelcen said.
At a meeting Wednesday night, neighbors didn’t hold back on their feelings. The city says it installed traffic calming sticks to deal with illegal parking on the street in front of the shop.
Neighbors are also concerned about deliveries blocking the street. Angelo’s says it opened up a ghost kitchen in another location to help with that issue. Councilman Mark Squilla says they’re working on more options to fight congestion in the area.
