Alligator Found in South Jersey Pond

Fisherman catches 2-foot-long alligator

A fisherman reeled in an alligator at a Gloucester County pond.

The unusual catch took place at Franklinville Lake in Franklin Township.

The 26-inch gator was turned over to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.

Shelter director Bill Lombardi tells The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill the gator was likely dropped in the lake by someone who could no longer care for it.

It's the second alligator found in south Jersey in six months.

A 2-foot-long gator was pulled from beneath a bridge near a lake in Gloucester Township.
