Police have arrested an Allentown man after they say he forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and tried to strangle her.
Police say 38-year-old Yamil Rodriquez told the woman he was going to kill her early Sunday.
The woman's son came to her aid and tried to fight off Rodriquez.
Police tell The Morning Call the woman sustained a skinned knee and her son injured his finger and elbow.
Rodriquez is charged with simple assault, harassment, receiving stolen property and theft.
It is not known if he has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.
