Boxing Icon Ali's Former Home for Sale

Cherry Hill home where Ali lived in the early 70s up for auction Sept. 8

Want to live like a worldwide sports icon?

The former Cherry Hill, N.J. home of Muhammad Ali is going to auction next month.

The Tuscan Villa located on Winding Drive was built in the late 60s for Ali and his second wife, Belinda (a.k.a. Khalilah Ali), A.C. Auctions auctioneer Robert Salvato told NBC10.

The Alis moved into the home in 1970 and lived there until they sold it to the current owners in 1974, Salvato said.

The renovated 10,00-square-foot home features five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms on a 1.5 acre property. Amenities include a three-car garage, an extra 2.5 work garage, greenhouse eating area, heated marble floors and a hot tub room.

Prudential Fox Roach Realtors of Marlton-Voorhees list the home for $1,999,000. The taxes on the property are around $29,000 a year, according to the listing.

The exact price of the home won’t be determined until it’s auctioned off Sept. 8. The auction is open to the public, but to be a bidder you must bring along a certified $50,000 check, Salvato said.

More details on what you need to do to potentially buy the home are available on AC Auctions website.

Ali will return to the Philadelphia region Sept. 13 when he receives the prestigious Liberty Medal.
