Acme Wants to Purchase 12 Local Super Fresh & PathMark Grocery Stores

Acme Markets wants to acquire 76 shuttered A&P owned grocery stores across six states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, according to an announcement the company made Monday.

Several hours before Acme revealed its purchase plans, A&P disclosed that it would close 25 grocery stores, branded under the Super Fresh and Pathmark banners, including several in Philadelphia and more in the surrounding area.

Acme is aiming to scoop up at least a dozen A&P owned locations in the region.
