Accused Drug-Selling Doctor Jailed

A federal judge has ordered that a Delaware doctor charged with illegally selling drugs on the underground website known as Silk Road be held in custody until a trial.

Following a detention hearing this week, the judge ordered that Dr. Olivia Bolles be transferred to Florida to face the charges against her.

Bolles and her live-in partner, Dr. Alexandra Gold, were arrested near their Newark home last month.

The two gynecologists were charged after federal undercover agents in Florida tracked shipments of drugs bought on the website to Delaware.

Bolles is charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Gold was charged with conspiracy after allegedly telling investigators she helped Bolles package drugs for shipment.

Gold has been suspended from her post as an instructor at Johns Hopkins University's medical school.
