Worker Dies From Electrical Shock at Suburban Philly Mall

A construction worker has died days after he was shocked by a 30,000-volt cable at a suburban Philadelphia shopping mall that's one of the largest in the U.S.

The Chester County coroner ruled 36-year-old Joseph Iacovino's death Wednesday at Paoli Hospital an accidental electrocution.

The Norristown man and a 27-year-old worker were hurt at the King of Prussia Mall around 7:20 a.m. Monday.

Police say they were on a lift cutting overhead electrical cables for the mall's 155,000-square-foot expansion project.

The mall is adding an enclosed corridor linking two existing sections, more than 60 new stores and a new parking deck. It's scheduled to open in fall 2016.

The International Council of Shopping Centers says King of Prussia has more leasable retail space than any other mall in the country.
