Woman Tased, Robbed While Walking to Store

Police say the suspect made off with $1,000 in cash, jewelry and other items.

Philadelphia Police are looking for the man caught on surveillance video tasing and robbing a woman in the Olney section of the city last Friday.

Authorities say that just after 11 a.m. a man approached the victim as she was walking to a store near where she parked her car on the 500 block of Ruscomb Street. They say the man placed a taser to her neck before snatching her purse which contained $1,000 in cash, her wallet, ID, credit cards, jewelry and a Sony personal game system before fleeing.

A witness says the man got into a green car, possibly a Toyota Camry.

Police are describing the suspect as a 30-year-old black male with a medium build and medium complexion. He had a full beard and was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call Philadelphia Police.
