Woman Struck by Stray Bullet Near Restaurant

Delaware State Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Wilmington that injured one woman.

Police say troopers were called to an area hospital early Sunday for the report of a 24-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Police say the woman had been walking near the Karibbean Delight Restaurant about 2 a.m. Sunday. That's when she heard gunshots ring out. Police say the woman ran for cover but was struck in the arm by a stray bullet. A private vehicle took her to the hospital.

The woman is expected to survive. Police say it does not appear the woman was targeted in the shooting.

Police have not identified any suspects in the case.
