Police say a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on I-76 eastbound early Sunday morning.
The unidentified woman was walking along the Schuylkill Expressway shortly before 1 a.m. between Snyder and Passyunk Avenues when she was struck by a car.
The woman died at the scene. Police also say the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
I-76 eastbound was shut down between Snyder and Passyunk for a little over an hour before it reopened.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
