Robert Jones, 36, was charged with murder in the shooting death of Sandrea Smith, 35, on Saturday in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Police.
Police say Smith had been shot one time in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting happened inside a second story apartment on the 2100 block of East Somerset Street.
An officer on the scene originally told NBC10 the shooting appeared to be accidental.
Smith was charged with murder on Sunday.
