Woman Sexually Assaulted at Chestnut Hill College

Victim, suspect met on SEPTA train: cops

A woman was sexually assaulted on the campus of Chestnut Hill College early Saturday morning, Philadelphia police said.

It happened after the 26-year-old victim and her attacker got off the Chestnut Hill East SEPTA train at 9601 Germantown Avenue around 12:30 a.m., investigators said.

The victim and alleged suspect met on the train and were sharing drinks while riding home. She missed her stop before getting off in Chestnut Hill, said Special Victims Unit police Monday.

They were walking when the man pulled her into an area of the campus where he allegedly physically and sexually assaulted her, cops said.

The woman was taken to Episcopal Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man, in his 20s, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, wearing blue jeans and a gray hoodie.

Neither the victim nor the suspect have ties to the school, police said.

Police were checking with the college and SEPTA to see if security cameras captured any video of the suspect.
