Woman Claims Craigslist Killing Was Self-Defense

The husband of a central Pennsylvania woman charged this week with killing a man she met on Craigslist and dumping his body in an alley says she told him she acted in self-defense.

Twenty-two-year-old Elytte Barbour told The Daily Item in Sunbury on Wednesday his wife hired herself out as a "companion" to men she met on various websites. He says he approved because the job did not involve sex.

Officials say 18-year-old Miranda Barbour of Selinsgrove is being held without bail on charges including criminal homicide.

Police say she stabbed 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara about 20 times and dumped his body in an alley last month. Her husband says she told him about her involvement Monday, three weeks after the crime and hours before she was arrested.
