Woman Beats Up Woman, Throws Glass at Victim's Head Inside Philadelphia Bar: Police

Do you recognize this woman?

A woman suddenly attacked a woman inside from behind in a Philadelphia watering hole and before the beating ended she threw a pint glass causing a bad cut on the victim’s head, according to Philadelphia Police.

The violent scuffle played out inside Whispers Bar on Ogontz Avenue near 77th Avenue in the city’s Cedarbrook neighborhood Wednesday night around 10.

Surveillance video shows the unidentified suspect quickly coming up behind the 23-year-old victim as she sat at the bar and repeatedly striking her head and body.

While other patrons tried to hold back the suspect, she tossed a pint glass at the victim’s head, causing a laceration, said investigators.

After a brief struggle with other patrons, the suspect -- described as a 35- to 40-year-old woman standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall wearing a green shirt, dark jeans and large hoop earrings -- can be seen being forced out of the bar.

Police also showed a person of interest who they would like to talk to because she appeared to try and calm down the suspect after the attack.

If you recognize either woman, police asked that you contact them at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
