Woman Abducted, Left Naked Atop Mountain: Cops

Police told the Reading Eagle the woman was kidnapped on Monday, driven to an area on top of Mount Penn.

Police are investigating the alleged kidnapping of a woman in Reading.

Police told the Reading Eagle the woman was kidnapped on Monday, driven to an area on top of Mount Penn and dropped off in a parking lot near the William Penn Memorial Fire Tower.

Investigators also believe the woman was stripped naked before she was left stranded on the mountain, according to the Reading Eagle.

The woman was taken to the hospital. Police have not yet revealed her condition.

Police are currently investigating whether Monday’s incident is related to another abduction in Reading back in November. Police say a 30-year-old woman was abducted, stripped naked and then left in Egelman Park back on November 12, according to the Reading Eagle. Police told the Reading Eagle the woman in that incident claimed she was abducted at gunpoint by three men who said she owed them drug money. The woman told police the men claimed they would keep abducting her until she gave them the money she owed them, according to the Reading Eagle.

The Reading Eagle reports Omar Otero, 27, of Reading, was arrested for the November incident. The other suspects in the abduction have not been caught however.
