Wolf Taps Josh Shapiro as Chairman of State Crime Commission

Gov. Tom Wolf is appointing Josh Shapiro to chair the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. He's a Montgomery County commissioner and former Wolf campaign adviser.

The Democratic governor announced the appointment Wednesday, saying Shapiro will provide strong leadership for the agency that works to enhance the state's criminal and juvenile justice systems as well as community safety.

Shapiro is currently the chairman of the Montgomery County commissioners. He's also a former congressional aide and served seven years in the state House of Representatives.

Shapiro served as vice chairman of Wolf's budget deficit and fiscal stabilization task force during the transition of the new administration.
