Women Caught in Crossfire

A shootout left two bystanders hurt overnight.

Gunfire rang out just before 10 p.m. along the 600 block of W 6th Street in Wilmington, Del., according to Wilmington Police.

According to police, two women were caught in crossfire while sitting on a porch.

A 47-yer-old woman was hit in the buttocks while a 29-year-old was hit in the thigh. Medics rushed the women to Christiana Hospital in stable condition, according to investigators.

Authorities believe the women were sitting on the porch of a home when two unknown suspects began shooting at each other. The women were then caught in the gunfire exchange.

Police say a man in a gray-hooded sweatshirt got into a two-door sedan and drove away.
