Wildwoods Visitor Spending Nears $1.5B Mark in 2015

Visitor spending in the Wildwoods increased nearly $250 million in the last six years, and in 2015 the area hit record-breaking figures, according to a new report.

Tourism spending in the Wildwoods — North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest — generated nearly $1.5 billion in 2015, according to a study conducted by Tourism Economics for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority.

Visitor spending in the Wildwoods rose nearly 5 percent in 2015, more than the growth seen in the state of New Jersey (3.3 percent) and Cape May County (4.3 percent), according to the report, which said the growth represented a $70 million increase over 2014's performance.
